Liana,
There is no shame in art. No matter what others tell you is good or bad, acceptable nor otherwise.
The crystal may be viewed from any angle my dear. Not just yours.
ERRR actually I am speaking to Liana at mo...she most definitely is not doing anything freaky such as masturbating up her nose!!(strange is it an american thing?)
Hi Alison,
Errr, actually I am speaking to Liana too...
Liana has not trouble masturbating up her nose, you see, her head is in her....Her aim is off again. Too many things to think about at once, that sort of thing.
You must have a very strange imagination if you visualise Liana with her head up her arse, when I saw her earlier it was sat quite prettily on top of her shoulders as usual.
Love the one you're with...........Steven Stills
Marrakesh Express..........Crosby Stills & Nash
Downtown..............Petula Clark
Daydream Believer............. The Monkees
Spurs are on their way to Wembley ........... Chas & Dave
Yes, I know it's bad, but I was young, naive,............... tone deaf.
[%sig%]
Well, yes, obviously anyone would be ashamed of liking albums by bands who always get into the top 100 albums of all time lists. I mean, it really would be embarrassing to admit to liking Frank Zappa or The Beatles wouldn't it? Oh, the humiliation. And as for Miles Davies, Coltrane and Charlie Parker... Sheesh, any self-respecting jazz fan would rather die than admit that.
(Can't believe on this thread we are now actually taking the piss out of someone for having 'critically acceptable' good taste in music - but it is about missing the premise. Which is fine, it is not necessarily immediately obvious, but don't jump down people's throats when they point it out. )
Here's a clue - for this particular thread, admitting to owning Bob Dylan's Blood on the Tracks or Van Morrison's Astral Weeks doesn't cut it, but admitting to owning and loving Hanson's album does.
*eyes stack of 100 blank cd's*
This thread could run and run.
Loads. My aunt used to be a dancer for showaddywaddy... she was the second D. (There were 13 of them, each with an initial on a teeshirt. Sad isnt it?)
You cant have toxic, not at any price, and Come Up and See Me is a classic... (should have put it on the wigging out thread, it always gets me going, especially when i am out with my best pouff)
I dont know Clarence Carter one?
I have also added to my collection Since You've Been Gone (went to school with Paula Bonnet, Graham's neice, and he took us to the Dirk and Dagger when we were 15 and bought us pernod and blacks so I love him), Hooples All the Young Dudes and Foreigners Cold as Ice.
God, look at all these dodgy claim to fames... next I will be boasting that Sid James lent me his stage makeup for when I dressed up as an arab in the Skeggy Carnival.
The neighbours hate me now... all this file testing and singing at full belt...
Oh, hahaha
*imagines Liana drowning under blank cds, pernod and black in hand, screaming for all the world to hear, while neighbour, still enraged by the cock and balls emblem episode, taps on window furiously*
Well, my first singing teacher's daughter was bassist with The Thompson Twins...
A lad I was at school with slept with Boy George...
And lastly, Emma Bunton's cousin was my accompanist at uni. (Infinitely more talented than her, I may add - he went on to the Royal College)
Apparently if you drown in blank CD's, when you go down for the third and final time, Mark Goodier's voice flashes before your ears "Another non-mover now at number seventeen, it's Snap with Rhythm... Isadancer"
In the middle of all my goth metal, hippie leftovers and mournful singer-songwriters sits "Amoureuse" by Kiki Dee
"turned the key into another world,
made a woman of a simple girl ..." awwww.
Hox, gosh - yes, 'They can't stop em, the boys from Tottnam, the boys from White Hart Lane'
Not even really a Spurs fan, I was an 'Appy Ammer back then, but Glenn Hoddle was like a god to me then. And what a side, Mickey Hazzard, Falco, Galvin, Steve Archibald, Ossie.
I also have a fondness for (but would never really wish to hear again) Barron Knights, Smurfs. Bear in mind I haven't heard this in 25 years...
"No-one would listen / to the smurfs in prison / so they jumped over the wall / a policeman saw them / he stopped them / caught them / and this is what he asked them all / 'where are you all coming from?' / 'we're from Dartmoor, on the run' "
Twenty-five bloody years, and I still remember the lyrics.
Neil... amoureuse is one of my all time top tens.. i never feel guilty about listening to it.
I would give anything just to hold you....for just another day...
*sobs*
Andrew, I have the same thing with stupid lyrics. see if you can remember this one
"Hi there people, you all know me
I used to run a little joint called Germany
My name is Hitler, I'm on the mike
I'm gonna tell you all the story of the new third reich...."
It was in the charts in the 80's
We'll have to get over the shock of that confession first.
Summer in the city by the lovin spoonful
Do you believe in Magic the lovin spoonful
Devil you know by Kylie
step back in time by Kylie
to be or not to be BA Robertson
How can i be sure David Cassidy
Sonny by Chris Montez or Bobby Hebb
Oh dear.no more.
I like Sunny by Boney M... that definitely has a place on the next... David Cassidy, I could make an entire cd of... how can I be sure is good but dusty's version is better.. his daydreamer is mmmm though.
Kylie?
Ooops. I had promised to self not to take the piss... after all, my lot are scandalous...
My first point on putting the "acceptable" bands on the list had to do with the fact that I at one point lived in an environment where "country music" was the only acceptable format. Nothing else was even allowed to be talked about. It was intended as an irony, not fodder for disdain.
The only way I could get any personal enjoyment from good music was to sneak off to my car or put a portable disk-player under the couch. It was pathetic and I actually had to resort to subversive methods just to listen to music I liked. Same premise, different reason.
Now, hopefully I could complete the thought with it being hijacked by somebody else as irrelivent or ignorant.
