Climate Change March

December 3rd is the Saturday midway through the "MOP" (First "Meeting of Parties" to the Kyoto Protocol) Climate Talks in Montreal, 28th November-9th December. The London Demo is part of the International Day of Climate Protest with climate demos planned all around the world from Montreal to Japan.

Help create a global wave of protest to press for the urgent action we need to prevent the catastrophic destabilisation of global climate.

Assemble 12.00 pm at Lincoln's Inn Fields (Holborn tube)

Speakers to include George Monbiot, Michael Meacher MP, Norman Baker MP (Lib Dem Shadow Environment Secretary) Caroline Lucas MEP (Green Party) and Fazlun Khalid, Director, the Islamic Foundation for Ecology and the Environmental Sciences. More speakers to be announced.

Cyclists Protest assembles at Thames Barrier 9.30 am. Goes via Greenwich, London Bridge to Lincoln's Inn Fields to join assembling marchers.

Main march assembles 12.00 pm at Lincoln's Inn Fields (Holborn Tube). From Holborn tube turn left, South down Kingsway (towards Aldwych). Take the first left down Remnant Street, or the second left down Sardinia Street: both take you to Lincoln's Inn Fields. The demo will be assembling on the South (Sardinia Street) side of the Square.

The march will go via Kingsway, the ExxonMobil Offices and the Australian Embassy on Aldwych, the Strand, Trafalgar Square, Cockspur street, Lower Regents Street, Piccadilly Circus, Piccadilly, Dover Street, Berkley Square, Davies Street to Grosvenor Square and the US embassy.

Speeches at the US embassy, about 2.30 pm. Finish around 3.30 pm.

On December 3rd, in the UK, there will also be demonstrations in Edinburgh and Belfast.
