Gravel by barely black francis

Tim writes with such force but this one has a wistful tenderness about it. Haven't we all been there? Haven't we all said these things to ourselves? But I've never seen it written down - especially with such style:

But the spills away part wouldn't work with shards of glass, you can hold on to gravel (lightly) - I thought it was a perfectly balanced metaphor.
