You have captured the juxtaposition of a woman attractive in capturing attention yet age taking its toll and masked with heavier make up. I can see through the low light and it's a sad but probably realistic image. Paul

John Bowring certainly packed such a lot into his life and interesting that differing views were taken of his many endeavours. It looks like the Suffragettes were becoming more prominent at this point in time.

Gosh what a busy entry. Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Prince Albert and Emily being my highlights. A sad episode too with so much death. I imagine Emily was missed by many after all that wonderful, selfless work she did.
