Hi Tina,
this is one of those poems that I hunger for, with all its rich metaphors.
There's an Oldie World feeling to it, I don't know if its looking at the winsome picture, or your words, but it took me back to another time......
this poem reminds me how important it is to make the most of the time I have with my partner. Loosing someone special is the hardest part of being in love, because when they're gone you find yourself with so many gaps to fill...
This is a great little poem and I agree with you about the butterfly, although if I were to be reincarnated, I would love to come back as a Golden Eagle, such a majestic bird.
This brought back so many memories of questions that I wanted to know from my own Dad. One of the thoughts that did cross my mind when reading, is how we go full cirlce from childhood to adults and then near that moment of saying goodbye, we...

I think the wonderful part about migration is the eagerness with which the birds fly...like it's so imperative they reach their destination.
I always like to think that when we die, our spirit leaves the body and flies free with the birds...
