Two outstanding pieces this week - quite hard to choose as there's been so much good stuff. Congratulations to Rosa Cruz for 'I and The Village' and NBeinn for 'Long Tall Sally'. Story and Poem of the Week and Inspiration Point

Firstly, how lovely it's been hearing how much ABCTales means to so many of you. (If you've read celticman's blogpost I'd just like to say he's lying about the taxi driver) There are a lot of emails and messages flying about right now and I feel sure that things will be fine, and that we'll all still be here in January. So keep your fingers crossed and don't go off searching for other sites just yet! Onto the weekly picks - I'll start with a...

A great prose poem/rant this week from john_silver takes the honour of Poem of the Week, and Story of the Week goes to Daedalic - who's new - for his cautionary tale for modern times. Big congratulations to both! http://www.abctales.com/story/johnsilver/things-i-have-do-after-brexit http://www.abctales.com/story/daedalic/showdown-brackewind-bay-shopping-... Story and Poem of the Month

Many thanks to Jane(airyfairy) who chose our picks for August: Amidst all the wonderful pieces on the site this month, two particularly stood out for me both for the quality of the writing and the (very different) emotions that stayed with me long after I’d read them. My poetry choice is VeraClark’s Magic, which manages to convey the love, fear, wonder and frequent banality of parenthood in its beautifully crafted lines. http://www.abctales.com/...

Story and Poem of the Week and Inspiration Point

Two wonderful pieces for you. Our Story of the Week is Stephen Thom's brilliantly disturbing 'Sticks' and our Poem of the Week is Overthetop1's powerful 'The Return' posted by seashore. I thoroughly recommend both! http://www.abctales.com/story/stephen-thom/sticks http://www.abctales.com/story/seashore/return I hope the Inspiration Point sparks your creativity into action: http://www.abctales.com/inspiration-point-ip .. and now I'm off to try to...
