The Nightcomers

Why are people afraid of the dark? What is the dark? Is it just the absence of light? If something is just the absence of another, does it even exist? And what is possible, in something that doesn't even exist?

Chapter 2: Magical Mystery Tour

Tony closed his eyes and held his head in his hands. He felt so confused it hurt. What was happening? Where was he going? Why did he feel he had no control over anything? Maybe this was still all a dream, yeah it had to be. He could feel himself being dragged through time, except time didn't exist anymore.

Chapter 1: The Coming of the Night

Tony stared at his murky reflection in the filthy window of the bus. Huge bags lay under his heavy eyes, he couldn't remember the last time he had had a decent sleep. How had it come to this? His whole life thrown away, and for what? Telling the truth? His reflection slowly faded as the hot sun retired behind the dead hills. Without even realising, he closed his eyes.

Chapter 3: The Empty Bed

He felt his skull being crushed inwards, then his entire body as he swirled through darkness once more.

Chapter 4: Time To Reflect

He wanted to die. He felt so trapped, so consumed, so weak. He had to get out. He didn't know how, he just wanted this all to end. For it all to just disappear. For things to go back to how they were.
