i have just read both pieces and the first is not my cup of tea but i think the made up words are imaginative and obviously remind me of the jabberwocky. The Ville i enjoyed there are some lovely descriptions in there, but as a novel i am not sure the first chapter really grabs the reader and maybe a much more action based scene would work better. There is a little too much tell, but the voice is distinctive. Juliet

upon entering a strange town

Upon entering a strange town. As I proached to spindly slog my monted cav did snort and paw the usty stoil. I cockled my bun and my rifled long shot as I antipated my sentry into hail. Quicksilverish quick did poples fled at my site and punic was their fear of warts.

Ville

I must change, change my mood or change my mind. Mutter, muttering to myself, "Come on get up, and get out of hereĀ. Up I got and threw some water on my face and wandered out into the midmorning heat. My day was well begun. Tottering, as my feet hit the rough road and every which way splayed like a drunk, a drunk with sleep in my eyes, which still dulls my head and my thoughts. The heat, reflecting off the peeling whitewashed walls washes onto my face, and dozies me further still into my lovely lethargy.
