cars and girls
ok, im after a new car... myold one is being picked up by the insurance company in the morning, and transported to the great scrapyard in the sky. (Or more likely to a dealer who will fix it for next to nothing, grrrr)
So, what car shall I have? I like fast cars... big engines, but nothing boy racerish... that means no golfs, no astra's certainly no bloody fiestas... so what shall i get? I have seen a nice mazda xedos, and a lovely ford probe, but i know nothing of these cars, being a mazda afficionado. time for a change i think.
any ideas?
get a motorbike with a sidecar 4 the kids
Camden gave birth to me, it has a lot to answer for
Have you considered a Hyundai, Liana?
are they any good Jeff?
Im just waiting for the first person to say "why dont you get a Suzuki Liana"
and I'll kill them :o)
how about a mini?
ahem....living as i do, in londontown, i do have access to countryside...we drove to epping forest on sunday, a mere 20 minute drive from here...and lovely it was for a little walk, with a great tea store for all the walkers, bikers, and horsy people who there absurdly early in a sunday morning...
buy a chrysler pt....
then become my chauffeur.....
you'd look great in a little hat....
well thank you all... still waiting for the insurance money, still being hassled by solicitors urging me to develop whiplash (man i hate those shysters, no wonder it costs a fortune to insure a car these days)
I do fancy a probe (ely, really) but i have also seen the exact same car on auto trader as the one i had trashed, so thats an option. At the moment I have mum and dads car to drive whilst they are away, so no rush really.
"develop whiplash", typical bastard lawyer speak that is..
Highly reliable Liana. It's a nippy little bugger to boot. Here's to Hyundai!
can you get one in a nice colour ...
it would a red hat...
No, no......go for the bike.
And leathers.
*trembles*
[%sig%]
you may have something there, hox
a black leather cap
mmmm....
I see Liana driving a VW Van spray-painted with hippy dayglow, curtains on the side window, and smoke billowing from the interior (ahem)....
.....or alternatively, zipping along behind the wheel of a yellow carmen ghia with no muffler...
Am I even close?
No that's fish, JT. Liana's more Merc convertable with the hood down, long knitted scarf billowing in the Skeggy breeze.
Nah, she should get one of those ones out of the last Star Wars film like Ewan Mac Gregor drove between the sky scrapers :0)Liana wrote:

I'd like to see you having a probe... ahem
as for London, no..as for Camden! its full of people trying to be different in the same way as each other..oh and a load of overpriced tat on display served by people who are far too cool to breathe on some freak in a suit. Everyone is too busy looking around to see who's looking at them to notice anything whatsoever. On the plus side, I went to the roundhouse there and Belgo, both very pleasant experiences but only if you live in...err....well Camden really, otherwise your joy will ALWAYS be overpowered by the nightmare of getting there
..and DON't offer the tube as an easy option of transport because Camden station is second in horrors only to Oxford Circus.
I thought one of your exes just gave you a car.
yes. unfortunately someone driving at speed behind me on the bypass didnt appear to notice me in front of her. consequently, the car was written off last week.
What about a Renault Scenic? They have high seats, which makes them easier to get in and out for the, ahem, more mature driver.
And some pink fluffy dice for the dashboard.

hrmmm.... were you expecting many lifts Hox?
God. I presume everybody is OK.
You should move out of Ipswich and come to London.
You don't need a car here.
And you can have all the drugs you want too.
The Mayor gives free drugs away now in London.
And sex is better here too.
And if you are out and get really drunk, London Angels transport you home on a powdery pink cloud.
Ditch the 'swich and come on to Lon Don.
Well Stewart.. as you well know, thankfully I dont live in the 'swich...
everyone is ok, thank you... amazing, because the back of the car, where my two kids were sitting, is a concertina'd mush until a fraction behind where they were.
The sex here is just fine... drugs... well, freely available.
Needing a car is very much a part of living here, but even if by some terrible miusfortune i ever lived in London again, I would still need one... just for escape purposes.
What you DO have in London i imagine, is better access to contract killers.
There is a woman who lives not a million miles away from me who drives a shitty car (which has a broken bonnet) whom i would pay dearly to have kneecapped.
Well those packages of heroin you keep sending me have got a 'swich postcode.
It is you that's sending those isn't it?
Because if it isn't, Big Dave is going to want a word about that half a mil I wired to your account.
if you had wired half a mil to my account stew, i would be typing this message with a brand new jag outside my front door.
Gosh is this a gangster thread, or a script from Eastenders?
where is Ashby? Isnt that somewhere in Leics Flash?
Now i may have this wrong but i think there is a famous song called,
'Ashby de la zouch by the Abbey' and i think your're right it is in Leics.
Er...........can i ask why you're asking me? I bet i've missed a joke here haven't i?
nah... i see a car for sale in ashby exactly like my beloved one, on the auto trader site thats all.
What's wrong with London?
whats right with it?
Yes there is an Ashby in Leics.
London is exciting, culturally diverse, full of love, full of fun.
London rocks.
I don't understand how anybody could live anywhere else.
I understand how people can like it. I just dont... I understand that different people like different places. I lived there once, and had a great time until 6 months before I left, when I bvegan to see it as tawdry, sad, overpriced, tired, full of itself and bitter... like many (not all) of the people who live there.
Its just not for me now.
Well obviously, like all major cities, London has it's unspeakably bad elements.
Homelessness, Stringfellows and Crouch End to name but three.
But it redeems itself with many positive aspects.
Thriving gay culture, the Hope and Anchor, Camden etc...
I mean, David Blaine didn't spend 44 days in a box suspended above the Cam did he?
Indeed he didn't... how the residents near the Cam must be kicking themselves they missed out on that.
Camden was great, I loved it once.
What happened to you in London Leearna?
Camden IS great! How can anybody not love Camden?
I don't not love Camden.
I do do love Camden.
I was up the market last week and I got some bits and pieces from Cyberdog. I nearly got a PunkyFish sweater but they only go up to Large.
And I discovered the Camden Mushroom Company - they sell magic mushrooms imported from Mexico.
Excellent.
Oi stuart, Crouch end ain't bad, it's all the yuppies that decided to poncify that are the bad ones...
You "shop" in CygberDog stuart??
On the car front - go for a Renault Scenic - I've got one and they've got all the lovely elevation of the Espace without its enormous size. The diesel is environmentally good, very quiet and surprisingly poky!
On the London front - I don't mind working here but I'm bloody glad I don't live here. it would drive me mad. Even if commuting to Brighton is a mild form of insanity it's better than living in this heap. I need to see the sea, look at fields and be able to go for a country walk without driving 60 miles. London would do my head in.
As it is I enjoy its bars and restaurnats, its theatres and art galleries without having to sleep here very often.
the best of both worlds and 4 hours a day on a train.
Ho Hum, at least it's giving me time to read Voices From The Web!
That Liana writes a nifty poem!
good news too ABCwise. Fingers crossed all round - may have a new site within 24 hours.
I bought a wallet and keyring chain from Cyberdog.
That is very bad indeed... We don't want your sort in CygberDog...
Nissan Almera is the way to go....it's funky, edgy, Zeitgeisty and no one ever steals them....
