Hi, I'm new I would just like to say how much I like this site and enjoyed reading some of the work on it.
I do have one question though as I have over the past few years been homeless and very familiar with The Big Issue, are ABCTALES and THE BIG ISSUE owned or part-owned by the same person?

John Bird of The Big Issue had the original idea for ABCtales.com and has read at several ABCtales live events.
He could still be described as a part-owner of the site now, although I imagine he's not expecting the profits to fund his retirement.
He doesn't have any operational involvement with the site.
John is still a co-owner of the site - as is Gordon Roddick. They are both kept up to date with developments although neither are involved in the day to day running. Neither are banking on their retirement funds through it!
That co-ownership, which could be construed as a conflict of interest, in many ways, is the reason that it has taken so long (5 years) for ABC and The Big Issue to get involved together. But now they want a page that encourages writing and creativity and there is no better partner around than ABC. It's a good deal for both of us and for our members and his readers. I think they call that win win win win.
Sounds like a very cool idea to me, whether I'm reading or writing, very short fiction is my favourite style, this is a great way of getting back into it again.
