It has been some while since she was last active on ABCtales, but I am sure that many long serving members of this site will be as saddened as me to hear that, after years of ill health, Val recently passed away.
She was welcoming and supportive (yet also critical of my worst excesses) when I first started posting my own verses here and at UKAuthors. I will always be grateful.
It grieves me to hear that Val has left us. I knew that she had been unwell for some time but it is still a shock. I shall always remember her for excellent poetry which culminated in her winning an ABC poetry competition with her poem 'Google Earth'

I and many others exchanged comments on each other writing and she was kind and appreciative in her critique. She shall be greatly missed.
Saddened to hear that Val has passed away. I remember her prize winning 'Google Earth' - a fine poem exploring technology, memory, regret and life-affirming indiscretion. Condolences to Val's family.
