This is completely off topic, but you've just reminded me of how David Frost always used to refer to Lloyd Grossman as 'The Sainted Lloyd Grossman'...

Lloyd Grossman... sainted? Michael Winner is probably on the new pope's short list then - along with Paul Daniels and Peter Stringfellow. Saints - preserve us.

As it happens my dear old mum DID name me for St George, and my brothers for St Peter and St John. I had the added bonus of also being named for six kings of England, something I have since renounced.

The Globe Theatre was open today and entry was free. However the Royal navy weren't allowed to fly the red cross in case it upset visiting Turkish ships!

Or did you mean the cross of St George? If so, I believe that's not an official Royal Navy flag and would be disallowed anyway.
