If anyone was planning on seeing Gene Pitney on his tour (i.e. dates not already gone), I'm afraid you will not be able to now, because the chap has passed on (apparently in a hotel).

I'm gutted. Saw him years ago, live at Caesar's Palace in Luton. He got the entire audience to write down questions they would like to ask. He answered every one including the one that enquired as to which way he dressed. Left - I think he replied. The world will miss him. I know I will.

That's a great pity. I used one of his songs "Town Without Pity" in a script I am writing.
