ah- sorry thought it was your father when a child. Boys do like locks. I knew one once who asked for a bicycle lock for Christmas - he didn't have a bicycle, he just wanted an impressive looking lock
catching up - brilliantly funny - I also like the special wedding ring in a little bag. I wonder if he has a reset button, in case things don't go according to plan? (and I can think of a few people I wish had one of those too)
Early mornings in the summer are one of my favourite times, and you've captured them here beautifully (a bit too well tbh, now the mornings are so dark - it's just rubbing it in!) Well done Ed
Made me laugh, thank you. This really will strike a chord with almost everyone. Do you remember a sketch years ago, I think it was Rowan Atkinson as a school student sitting down to take an exam, arranging his lucky gonks, his pencil case,...
I've also been wondering how you were Jean, and am sending you a virtual hug while you make that very big (and hard!) decision. Please do let us all know, and in the meantime I'm sure we will all be thinking of you
Oh yes, please do an audio version of this. You've really hit the spot with this beautiful poem, as you can see from the comments and all the cherries - well done!

'My mysterious woman’s trunk of treasures. Actually it’s where we keep all our spare bedlinen and towels'. - NO don't spoil it for us!!!
What a wonderful collection of treasures you've thought up here Turlough, and I'm very impressed at...
