The Discovery of the East Pole
The Nippon trilogy 'The Discovery of the East Pole' is a historical novel about the adventures of the German physician Philipp Franz von Siebold (*1796, †1866) in the ancient Empire of Japan that was cut off the world for two centuries. His scientific approach to the country - instead of the commercial or military one administered by most colonial powers - had a huge impact on the 'Opening of Japan' and the birth of the modern Japanese nation. This novel was published in German language in Berlin by Perlen Verlag. Being the author of this novel, I would like to submit my own translation experiments for clement peer review.
