The mystifying aspect of these spams was that they were essentially inventing absolute nonsense about the dangers of the area to which their links were trying to get punters to go on holiday or book rooms? Reverse psychology or sheer stupidity? “Pssst! Wanna prove you’re ‘ard mate, fearless, frightened of nothing? Book a room in terror town and show your stripes.”
