Banal thing Mk II

I mopped the kitchen floor I emptied the coffee machine I stared at the carpet whilst picking my big toenail I touched the cats tail to see if it did anything. It didn't. I moved all the papers from one bag into another one. I unsuccessfully tried to plan a lesson for yr 10s on Christain attitudes to sex. I watched boy bands on music tv. I had a wank. I hoped the last two were unrelated.
I gasped at Fergal.
haha. Sorry. I couldn't help it. It was dying to be typed.
I added another piece of chewing gum to the hard-edged, lumpen spearmint tower on my bedknob which I keep meaning to remove but forgetting.
i had a fleeting thought about sex. It soon passed.
David Coulthard has an odd shaped head.
But he does sometimes make me think about sex.
Thinks maybe it is his name. It sounds like a verb.
i wonder if/when my phone will ring
i think i'll fit a new belt on the dyson
I think this is a front for a sex chatroom. ~PEPS~ Latest on The Art of Tea ( http://pepsoid.wordpress.com/ )... "The Art of Flânerie"

I hope my own comments didn't influence Fergal to make her wank comment. Middle age spread isn't attractive on a man is it? I've just noticed one of our vaccum cleaners lying in bits in the back garden, i may ask why... tomorrow, because everyone is at the pub , asleep or are cats... and they i suspect they wouldn't know why, even if they could comunicate. Funnily enough, i've just knocked several mp3 dvd off a set of drawers, and they've fallen down behind them. Retrieving them will be awkward...perhaps impossible. i too gasped at Fergal's comment.
I suspect that flash is copying me, chicken dinner and gasping is just too much of a coincidence.
Soda or pop? ~PEPS~ Latest on The Art of Tea ( http://pepsoid.wordpress.com/ )... "The Art of Flânerie"

The All New Pepsoid the Second!

I just yawned yet I'm not tired.
Just read Ivory's post about Edward de bono's thinking hats. I'm wondering if it's anything like the preasant I got for my son Jude this Christmas: a Hats Rappin' Rolley Mo. He does a rap about the hat he's wearing and then asks you to change his hat for a different one. He's the Rollyest Mo You'll Ever Know!
Who was it who told me Edward de Bono thought we should send Marmite to the Middle East? ~PEPS~ Latest on The Art of Tea ( http://pepsoid.wordpress.com/ )... "The Art of Flânerie"

I've carried on reading, and I'm now also wondering if I'm Pepsoid's husband. I think I'll have another glass of Pinot Grigiot.
I suspect that if peps were your wife you would be drinking soda (or pop) rather than wine.
I know, it was on QI! What's wrong with pop (or soda)? ~PEPS~ Latest on The Art of Tea ( http://pepsoid.wordpress.com/ )... "The Art of Flânerie"

Sorry, feeling a bit muddled about this - why pop/soda instead of wine? In fact - I'm feeling as muddled as a newt!
This thread just about sums up the world today. All wank and marmite.
i watched some of midsomer murders
Not enough Marmite. ~PEPS~ Latest on The Art of Tea ( http://pepsoid.wordpress.com/ )... "The Art of Flânerie"

I decided that the popularity of this thread is unsurprising. Before 'unsurprising' I tested out 'depressing', 'self-explanatory', 'revolationary', 'tiring' and 'telling'. 'Telling' was a close second. ~ I'll Show You Tyrants * Fuselit * The Prowl Log * Woe's Woe

Jack, unsurprising is also a word that springs to my mind after reading your post. Pompous was a close second.
Yeah, 'pompous' is often the word that springs to mind whenever someone whose watched a joke drag on far, far too long makes any indication that they find it irritating. Moreso when the person tries to indicate, either directly or otherwise, that upon contemplation they at least find it understandable. ~ I'll Show You Tyrants * Fuselit * The Prowl Log * Woe's Woe
Come on Jack. What sort of a response is that?
I dunno. I'm procrastinating hard at the moment due to what's known as the 'week 2 wall' or something. Means I'm writing stuff that's on my mind where I wouldn't normally bother unless I thought it was worth saying. Then again, the whole point of this thread is banality, right? I could have said, "Look, I do think this thread suggests pretty strongly, by its popularity rather than the lives it describes, that people in general are far more comfortable being banal than they are engaging in any kind of contentious activity, and on the one hand I do think that's a bad thing - pretty much the reason why we're mostly content to let awful things happen in the world most of the time - but on the other hand, I guess that's not something particularly shocking or revelatory." But instead I compacted it into a shorter post, which was more honest and blunt in describing my gut reactions, and I played along with the game. I can't help it if the banal things I do are more thought-related than food-related. ~ I'll Show You Tyrants * Fuselit * The Prowl Log * Woe's Woe
The week two wall - smash it down! I don't disagree with you. It just seemed like an unnecessarily curmudgeonly post. Good luck! Joe
Tiresome pompous wanker sprung to mind after reading Jacko's post. Closely followed by tiresome pompous wanker. :-oD
"Curmudgeonly" is a good word. Banality is cathartic. I've just had some fried fish fingers. ~PEPS~ Latest on The Art of Tea ( http://pepsoid.wordpress.com/ )... "The Art of Flânerie"

"Tiresome pompous wanker sprung to mind after reading Jacko's post. Closely followed by tiresome pompous wanker." Yeah, that joke was just done, dickhead. Although I must admit it's quite an insult to be called 'tiresome' by you. ~ I'll Show You Tyrants * Fuselit * The Prowl Log * Woe's Woe
I have just bought a pack of socks labelled for days of the week The toes have different colours; today is green.

I found some prawns in the fridge that should have been eaten by the 9th so I've put a good few handfuls of them on buttered bread then realised that I didn't have any mayo but I found one of those McDonalds Sweet n Sour sauce sachets in the cupboard, whacked it on top of the prawns and it's bleedin' gorgeous! I'll be doin' that again - but minus the vinegar I squirted all over the prawns before I added the sauce. There's nothing more mind-teasing than the incomprehensible eagerly avowed - Dennett

I am eating Cornflakes with sugar and milk, and tea with sugar but no milk. (Diabetes here I come.) Yan, are you ok after those old prawns?

I'm enjoying this banality thread quite a bit. I think banalities are very funny, simply because they're banal. That's the point of the thread, que no? We could segue it into the frightfully boring 'what is humour' thread, perk it up a little. Nah, let's not. I've just ordered three reams of coloured paper: beige, green, and blue.
AG:"We could segue it into the frightfully boring 'what is humour' thread, perk it up a little." :-! Slap yourself for your impertinent suggestion, young lady!!! ... Anyway, who's to say what is and what isn't "boring"...? ... ;-) ... ~PEPS~ Latest on The Art of Tea ( http://pepsoid.wordpress.com/ )... "The Art of Flânerie"

Ahem! Everyone pretty much agrees it's boring, but define boring and who determines the degree to which it matches that definition. There's nothing more mind-teasing than the incomprehensible eagerly avowed - Dennett

My daughter has just phoned from University to find out what 'concept' is. I thought she was barking - but it turns out it's quite complicated.

What a grump. Almost on par with Missi, bless 'im.
if it's so boring why do people keep posting on it?
