London Word Festival

The highlight for us is undoubtedly this gig featuring our very own spack (Joe Dunthorne):

Fri 28 Feb ‘08

JOSHUA FERRIS + Joe Dunthorne + Richard Milward

Experience live readings from three of the hottest fiction writers 2007/8.
US author Joshua Ferris reads from Then We Came To The End, his virtuoso satire of office life based in a Chicago advertising agency; Richard Milward’s Apples is a prelapsarian tale of innocence and experience laced with E, weed, Smirnoff and speed. Joe Dunthorne’s Submarine is an Adrian Mole-esque coming of age story and one of this year’s most anticipated novels.

Bardens Boudoir £6.50 adv 7pm
38-44 Stoke Newington Rd. London. N16 7XJ

Come down, talers, one and all. I can vouch for the quality of both Joshua Ferris (whose book has just been Richard and Judy'd) and for Richard Milward. Joe
Oooooo, I quite fancy this. Looking forward to seeing you there Joe. Reading I mean. Andrea, how much more (detailed) is the info you're directing people to? Cheers, Mark

Well, if you click on the link Mark, you'll see. http://www.ukauthors.com http://www.ukapress.com
Oh yeah, and another London Word Festival event is The Oulipo Poets. Which is me and Rokkitnite and another poet, Ross Sutherland. It'll be us doing our univocalisms and a kind of mini-lecture on restrictions in writing. It's 9 March with Toby Litt @ Gramaphone on Commercial Street Here's two of the poems we'll read, mine written only using the vowel 'I' and Tim's in 'A'. http://www.abctales.com/story/spack/filth http://www.abctales.com/story/rokkitnite/gay-day
I posted the information sent to me by the Festival but on looking at my diary I note that Friday is Feb 29th. I assume that that would be the right date - but Joe, can you confirm?
It's Thursday the 28th Feb. Joe
Also, while we are plugging London gigs, come and watch mcmanaman and spack read at The Griffin in Shoreditch on Saturday 16th Feb. http://www.londonisfree.com/cgi-bin/mtldf/mt-search.cgi?tag=The%20Griffi...
Yes, do come. It'll be lovely.
