Yes - very well drawn

Yes - very well drawn characters. Loved the dialogue in the second section, too. This is really well put together - short but I already feel so drawn into the narrator's world. Looking forward to the next bit.

Short and powerful. I like how all the emotion of the scene is carried off by that one image of a pebble in a shoe. Very well wrought!

What a caricature! I loved the first image of him chewing stubbornly in his chair, refusing to look at his family 'He proceeded to chomp with all the finesse of a washing machine on spin cycle with a load of spanners in its drum.' Very Dickensian...
