Hello! I am an old crone who very much enjoys reading SF, urban fantasy and horror. I write all sorts, some of it SF, urban fantasy and horror, a lot of it not. Sometimes I can even be funny, so I'm told. My short stories have appeared in the anthologies 'Cold Iron: Ghost Stories from the 21st Century' (Iron Press) and 'Science Fiction For Survival: An Archive For Mars' (Valley Press), as well as in magazines ranging from the literary magazine 'Dreamcatcher' to 'Writing Magazine' and 'The People's Friend' (the latter definitely not SF, urban fantasy or horror). I do regular local spoken word events, and needless to say there is a novel on the go. My new website is currently under construction, and you are cordially invited to come and have a peep at the blogs and free stories there. You can even go mad and sign up for my newsletter! Plus the usual social media stuff. All details below. Thanks for dropping in! (Oh, the picture is of my highly critical personal editor.)

This is a lovely piece for Women's Day, Jenny. I could see Rosa's garden, and there's so much wisdom in those last few lines. It was a pleasure to read - I found it very calming, and reassuring. I'd like a cup of tea with Rosa in her garden!

I'm always in awe of people who can write haiku, because it's such a difficult form. You have to have a razor sharp focus and at the same time make it sound completely natural. This conjures a lovely, peaceful picture. I hope we'll have more...

Completely absorbing. There's such a feeling of dread that keeps increasing so that while you want to read on - indeed you can't stop yourself reading on - at the same time you're almost afraid to. More, please! I think.

This is a real delight, Rhiannon. So much life and love in there. As insert says, it would be a treat to hear you read this at the event on 1 April!

Thanks for this, Ewan. Yes indeed, we all know at least one Butch. The only sport I'm remotely interested in is tennis, but the women's Euros were just a generally joyous event. It felt like quite a sombre IWD this year, so many backward steps in...

Very cleverly done. The old lady and her ring, both denied their right to sparkle, for now. I particularly loved 'she was locked away in another dimension, walking in a rich forest of memories where age was immaterial and material objects had no...

Catching up on this, and it's a real page-turner! I love all the details you put in, about the way she keeps the chain on the door to start with, ramps up the tension. Looking forward to seeing what comes next!
