Hello! I am an old crone who very much enjoys reading SF, urban fantasy and horror. I write all sorts, some of it SF, urban fantasy and horror, a lot of it not. Sometimes I can even be funny, so I'm told. My short stories have appeared in the anthologies 'Cold Iron: Ghost Stories from the 21st Century' (Iron Press) and 'Science Fiction For Survival: An Archive For Mars' (Valley Press), as well as in magazines ranging from the literary magazine 'Dreamcatcher' to 'Writing Magazine' and 'The People's Friend' (the latter definitely not SF, urban fantasy or horror). I do regular local spoken word events, and needless to say there is a novel on the go. My new website is currently under construction, and you are cordially invited to come and have a peep at the blogs and free stories there. You can even go mad and sign up for my newsletter! Plus the usual social media stuff. All details below. Thanks for dropping in! (Oh, the picture is of my highly critical personal editor.)

Lovely memoir, I could really see and hear that bustling family - and smell the sausages! Really enjoyed reading it.

I really enjoyed reading this

I really enjoyed reading this, although I'm going to have to go back and refresh myself on the other chapters! It flows really well, and there's a real sense of mystery, intrigue and an unsettlingly undefined threat. Not so long before the next...

Can't believe I've never heard of her before. An amazing story. I hope she found happiness in the years she reclaimed from all that brutality.

A bit like insert, I was thinking about the judges who had previously taken Molloch's floral arrangements, and whether that will make a difference? As absorbing as ever!

What lovely memories, Jenny, and a lovely photo! The song is so typical of that time - you just have to hear the opening few bars to be taken right back there.

Hi Jean

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and for your lovely comment. My mum had a couple of experiences, like you, both when her sister and my dad died, that we were never able to explain. They were very fleeting, but...

This is a lovely piece for Women's Day, Jenny. I could see Rosa's garden, and there's so much wisdom in those last few lines. It was a pleasure to read - I found it very calming, and reassuring. I'd like a cup of tea with Rosa in her garden!
