Hello! I am an old crone who very much enjoys reading SF, urban fantasy and horror. I write all sorts, some of it SF, urban fantasy and horror, a lot of it not. Sometimes I can even be funny, so I'm told. My short stories have appeared in the anthologies 'Cold Iron: Ghost Stories from the 21st Century' (Iron Press) and 'Science Fiction For Survival: An Archive For Mars' (Valley Press), as well as in magazines ranging from the literary magazine 'Dreamcatcher' to 'Writing Magazine' and 'The People's Friend' (the latter definitely not SF, urban fantasy or horror). I do regular local spoken word events, and needless to say there is a novel on the go. My new website is currently under construction, and you are cordially invited to come and have a peep at the blogs and free stories there. You can even go mad and sign up for my newsletter! Plus the usual social media stuff. All details below. Thanks for dropping in! (Oh, the picture is of my highly critical personal editor.)

This is really beautiful, Di, a wonderful song to the coming of spring. The Persephone myth was always one of my favourites too. And your poem captures a lot of how I feel now the days are drawing out and we're emerging from the winter darkness....

I wouldn't choose Earl Grey, but I can drink it if offered in someone's house. I really don't get on with herbal teas, though. They always taste like slightly rancid water to me. And I've tried all sorts. I think it's because, decades ago, I...

Definitely nailing the poems, Mark. I love the image of the waves rolling in but never bringing those elusive answers. What very productive train journeys!

Love the poem and the picture. My legs are what they call 'sturdy'. I used to hate them with a passion, now I love them to bits because they're still working when friends with more shapely pins have had to have bits replaced. Hooray for Tesco...

As everyone has said, this so wonderfully brings a time and place to life. Such beautiful phrases - among many, I was very taken with the bells 'swinging in the sixties'. So clever! Lovely writing.

I love the whole concept of the Green Man, and you've captured it so well here. Lovely piece, Jenny. And while I'm missing your stories, I'll forgive you if you keep producing poems like this!

This is great, Paul. And please write more science fiction. Big fan here, especially of the classics, and PKD is one of my favourites. I look forward to reading more SF from you!

I'm lucky where I live, the buses are - comparatively - good in the city (our city the size of a town) but they're going to be cut back, and the long range buses, essential now Transpennine trains are a pile of poo, are also going to be cut back...

They do indeed live, every day. This captures it all so well, Ewan.
