I write all sorts, some of it SF, urban fantasy and horror, a lot of it not. Sometimes I can even be funny, so I'm told. My short stories have appeared in the anthologies 'Cold Iron: Ghost Stories from the 21st Century' (Iron Press) and 'Science Fiction For Survival: An Archive For Mars' (Valley Press), as well as in magazines ranging from the literary magazine 'Dreamcatcher' to 'Writing Magazine' and 'The People's Friend' (the latter definitely not SF, urban fantasy or horror). I do regular local spoken word events, and needless to say there is a novel on the go. Do come and have a peep at the blogs, stories and audio at https://www.janeayrie.com - you can even go mad and sign up for my newsletter! Plus the usual social media stuff. All details below. Thanks for dropping in! (Oh, the picture is of my highly critical personal editor.)

A great poem has come out of those tatters, Turlough. I so admire all our wonderful writers who have managed to put pen to paper about the situation - my mind is so tattered I can't even do that. I've attended my local Ukraine rally, sent my...

Thank you for posting this, Di. My heart bleeds for those poor people in Ukraine, but I am aware of a weariness as I watch 'our leaders' responding and I make bets with myself that when it's 'all over' we shall find a way to accommodate whoever...

Thinking of you and him, Paul
Posted on Wed, 02 Mar 2022
Thinking of you and him, Paul. Your use of colour in this poem is indeed remarkable. I have seen a bit about how the situation is being presented to the Russian people, but in this day and age even dictatorships struggle to completely control the...

It's years since I was in Cornwall, as well, but this captures the beauty there so well. A lovely piece of both description and vivid imagination, Jenny.

And all those searing

And all those searing sanctions our great leader has put on Vlad the Invader! The London property market, at least, will be safe.
Nice to see what you can do when you're not writing ...
