Hello! I am an old crone who very much enjoys reading SF, urban fantasy and horror. I write all sorts, some of it SF, urban fantasy and horror, a lot of it not. Sometimes I can even be funny, so I'm told. My short stories have appeared in the anthologies 'Cold Iron: Ghost Stories from the 21st Century' (Iron Press) and 'Science Fiction For Survival: An Archive For Mars' (Valley Press), as well as in magazines ranging from the literary magazine 'Dreamcatcher' to 'Writing Magazine' and 'The People's Friend' (the latter definitely not SF, urban fantasy or horror). I do regular local spoken word events, and needless to say there is a novel on the go. My new website is currently under construction, and you are cordially invited to come and have a peep at the blogs and free stories there. You can even go mad and sign up for my newsletter! Plus the usual social media stuff. All details below. Thanks for dropping in! (Oh, the picture is of my highly critical personal editor.)

Thank you, Drew. I wish I could catch up on my life. It always seems to be disappearing round the next corner ahead of me.

I am so glad to see this is a WIP - there's more! As always, marvellous characters, settings so real you can smell and taste them. A touch of humour, and tension and mystery here too. I am so looking forward to seeing what comes next.

Being a happy writer is the thing. And of course, it all depends how you define success. I would say you very much have success, not because you've published (though that's bloody brilliant) but because you like what you write and you bring...

It was such a pleasure to hear this at the reading, Paul, and lovely to have a chance to read it now. I look forward to hearing it again when it's all on YouTube!

I read Kim Sengupta's article in the paper, and pathos and horror of it is almost unimaginable. It is both the most complex of situations, and the most simple. Thank you for putting so much into words.

As others have said, the different views of his life were very interesting. How sad that Maria and the others were excluded from the accounts of his life. There was, I think, a very narrow view of what was 'noteworthy' then, and there is still a...
