I wrote this a few years ago, with much rubbing out and rereading and then I lost the courage to show it to anyone else. I think I have reached the right time now. Please go easy, my first attempt.

You are a great writer. Building the mood, the feeling of loss. Then giving her/us hope only to suddenly crush it. Leading us to believe that she was a young woman who has somehow lost her way, then turning her into an older person with poor...
