READING NIGHT THANK YOU!

Huge thanks to everyone who came to our reading night yesterday in London, it was so lovely to see you all, and there were many fabulous performances, some of which we managed to film, and we will hopefully be sharing those with you soon.

Special thanks to Mark Say for the organisation and for being a brilliant MC, and to Richard (blightersrock) for the auction which raised a very tidy amount to help keep us going (and I have now got some great WB Yeats books!)

One person who always came to every single reading, who always had something to read (brilliantly) and who always seemed to find the time to say an encouraging word to everyone in the room, was missing last night - Bee, whose journey through cancer you can read about on the front page. I know she would have been thrilled though, that almost all the rest of her family took the time to come, and that her daughter (accidentally existing) completely owned the stage!

One last very big thank you to maggyvaneijk for all the whooping!

I hope you will all come to the next one!

Last night was the best ABCtales evening I have attended. Brilliant lineup of quality talent.

Glad I didn't have to follow accidentally existing: a fey Gaelic lassie, hip hop dishwasher and bereft daughter, all in one.

Nice to hear The Wages Of Sin playing their first acoustic set for 40 years.

Now, the question is, who shall I be next?

Oh I do hope we have the glamrock on film Lille - it was a tour de force!

sounds like a great night. I'm so glad it went well. And poor Bee RIP.

Thank you for having me, we were pleased to be there. Both dad and I felt that Bee had left a piece of herself there - we definitely felt the echos of her wit and charm. We also very much enjoyed the other readers. Well done to all who went and to Mark for organising.

The beat of your heart is the mellifluent rhythm to my soul.

Pleased to hear that the event was successful. Having attended reading nights in York and Nottingham I know the kind of atmosphere and camaraderie they can generate. This time London was outside my reach and it is a pity I missed meeting people who I only know through their writing but hopefully a video of the occasion will give me a glimpse of new faces. Well done all of you.
Dear Bee is always in my thoughts.

I was so pleased to hear everything went well for the reading night. It must have been so inspiring to be there. I hope one day to make it to one of your nights, we shall just have to wait and see.

Happy to hear Bee is remembered and that her daughter and husband were able to be there.

Long live her memory.

Jenny.

I can't wait for the next one these nights are inspiring. It was a great turnout.

Sounds like a wonderful evening. I second Luigi: such a great opportunity to meet and hear fellow abc-ers. Shame to miss such great performances and nice to see lovely Bee remembered. Well done to all.

I'm glad it went well. Wish I had been there. I'm up for the next one.
