Now It's Your Turn

I've just been given a white, paper, heart by an attractive oriental lady.
I thought my luck had changed until she said "Keep on smiling" and, realising that I was a bit flabbergasted, nodded at the heart which turned out to be a note.

It said:

"Believe, Love, Listen, Trust, Prepare, Persist, Pray, Change, Choose, Accept, Act, Smile, Focus, Forgive, Wait, Risk, Relax."

On the other side, "17 words for sucess!"
"God loves you" (actually God *picture of a heart* U) Pass it on.

So, I have passed it on to you - I may keep the heart though :)

I've been thinking about rooms today. Some people can live quite happily with one whereas others need a whole house-full. Anyway, the reason I was thinking of rooms is that I've met the occasional person who has lots of different rooms and was willing to give me a quick tour of the premises; only opening the doors a crack to give me glimpses of the exotic and the esoteric hidden within. Since the sort of rooms I'm talking about, like the TARDIS, have no relation to their physical size I was wondering how you can guess who has lots of rooms. I always think a good indication is an ecletic living room, often filled with quirky, nostalgic, souveniers(sp) of previous shared tenants. A study with lots of abandoned hobbies and a large collection of dusty books. An interesting kitchen which usually indicates a love of food but a lazy streak. A bedroom which is more often used for sleeping than for entertaining. You know the sort of thing - it's guessing people's mind rooms that makes ABC such fun.

I suppose, in a way, tomorrow officially begins a new phase for computing as Intel lauches it's dual-core processors. Will it make any great difference to the average home user? Certainly not in the near future. Strangely it seems the new chips will include hyper-threading - like the top of the range Pentium 4's - but no-one seems convinced this is actually benificial if you have a twin core. Since AMD's twin core will be out very soon too (which doesn't have HT technology) it's just another nail in the coffin of true processor compatibilty... Mind you a few years down the line we'll look back and wonder how we ever managed without our eight-core processors with gigabytes of QDRam and holographic projectors. We will look back with nostalgia on the days we still needed keyboards and mice and remember fondly the days before Internet regulations required passwords and security clearances to access anything but the standard state service...

Well, we probably won't divorce 'officially' for some time yet, and we'll probably still live together as friends for the same 'some time yet'. We can't afford not to. I'll still take offers on him though. I'll even throw in a free bottle of bubble bath for the highest bidder...

Only 150,000 posts to this forum. Still I think some might have been lost. Hell of a lot of opinions though and long may they continue.

I'm fascinated by those undersea creatures that communicate by light - they are supposed to be able to have several conversations at once... Cuttle fish or something?

Well, it's negotiable. Maybe some scented lotion? He's still handy in a mannish kind of way, fixes my car, installs stereos, etc. But that's all.

I can admit to a computer room instead of a spare bedroom and a video/DVD collection that would keep you in fresh movies for several years... but my mind rooms are full of... I've probably said more than enough when thinking of rooms :)

Cuttlefish are way cool. I swam with some in Thailand; they have these big eyes that look at you curiously. They're really beautiful. They have beautiful mating rituals too. ;-)

Although some threads have gone awol, I don't think the post score changed at all. Maybe it's located in a different part of the server and is oblivious to deleted posts. I've been archiving threads for four years now and have never noticed a dip in the post score, which would definitely have happened if it adjusted to lost threads and posts.

Yes, but I don't think that what I meant,.. something that lives under the sea that can communicate by flashing... err, well you know what I mean :)
