I write all sorts, some of it SF, urban fantasy and horror, a lot of it not. Sometimes I can even be funny, so I'm told. My short stories have appeared in the anthologies 'Cold Iron: Ghost Stories from the 21st Century' (Iron Press) and 'Science Fiction For Survival: An Archive For Mars' (Valley Press), as well as in magazines ranging from the literary magazine 'Dreamcatcher' to 'Writing Magazine' and 'The People's Friend' (the latter definitely not SF, urban fantasy or horror). I do regular local spoken word events, and needless to say there is a novel on the go. Do come and have a peep at the blogs, stories and audio at https://www.janeayrie.com - you can even go mad and sign up for my newsletter! Plus the usual social media stuff. All details below. Thanks for dropping in! (Oh, the picture is of my highly critical personal editor.)

There's a lot of all that going around. I do hope your friend's friend will be well. As you say, let's hope we have some sort of normality back by this time next year!

At last - something sensible about Mother's Day! It's always an ambivalent relationship. Philip Larkin was completely right, but sometimes you learn to forgive your own and hope your kids will do the same for you. I love the all-encompassing...

Sorry, I've got something in my eye. Absolutely beautiful. Captures the sadness of the moment and a hope for the future. I do hope your friend will be well.

Thank you! My mog is a very cuddlesome creature, which is quite handy for social distancing, as I am usually covered with cat hair and no-one wants to get near me anyway.
Thanks again for reading!

Oh no! I'm glad you designated this 'surreal' - you had me really worried there.
I can't believe it's only a couple of months since my son and daughter and I were in the West End, seeing a show, spending time in cafes and restaurants,...

Changing life for all of us, Grace. You're right, it's important we keep in touch with people who are 'self-isolating' and make sure they're OK. Hope you manage to get what you need and stay safe.

I confess to having bought an extra bag of cat litter, just in case. Most things I can do without but, should I get stuck indoors, I don't fancy being cooped up with a fussy moggie and no cat litter!
You're right - it is easy to lose...

Nice to see Josiah and Archibald again! And nice to be able to get a bit of a laugh out of the present situation.
