Hello! I am an old crone who very much enjoys reading SF, urban fantasy and horror. I write all sorts, some of it SF, urban fantasy and horror, a lot of it not. Sometimes I can even be funny, so I'm told. My short stories have appeared in the anthologies 'Cold Iron: Ghost Stories from the 21st Century' (Iron Press) and 'Science Fiction For Survival: An Archive For Mars' (Valley Press), as well as in magazines ranging from the literary magazine 'Dreamcatcher' to 'Writing Magazine' and 'The People's Friend' (the latter definitely not SF, urban fantasy or horror). I do regular local spoken word events, and needless to say there is a novel on the go. My new website is currently under construction, and you are cordially invited to come and have a peep at the blogs and free stories there. You can even go mad and sign up for my newsletter! Plus the usual social media stuff. All details below. Thanks for dropping in! (Oh, the picture is of my highly critical personal editor.)

Lovely response to the IP. Have you ever seen the film 'The Last Unicorn'? My children adored it when they were small - in fact both have their own copies now because they wore out our old videotape! This reminded me of that - the fleeting...

I can't imagine what these
Posted on Sat, 14 Sep 2019
I can't imagine what these anniversaries must be like for a native New Yorker. I made my first visit to the city at the end of last year, and visited the twin towers memorial and museum. Profoundly moving, and even on my side of the pond it...

Taut, jabbing lines, emphasising the unsettling content. So clever in its combination of things - it gave me a rolling feeling in the pit of my own stomach when I read about the 'torture of team picks' and reminded me of feeling physically sick...

Hooray! Thank you for this, Luigi! Delighted to have an ending to the story, and one that saw justice done.

I like the way it shifts with those last two lines. We're used to seeing this story presented as pure submissive devotion - good to see a different, beautifully realised take.

I've just been to a new van
Posted on Tue, 03 Sep 2019
I've just been to a new van Gogh exhibition - what they call an 'immersive experience', with a sort of son et lumiere to start with and then a virtual reality trip through some of the paintings. Your poem reminds me of his starry night skies. ...

Absolutely love it. I'm sure Adam and Eve would think we'd all gone bonkers. Very nice piece of work.
