I write all sorts, some of it SF, urban fantasy and horror, a lot of it not. Sometimes I can even be funny, so I'm told. My short stories have appeared in the anthologies 'Cold Iron: Ghost Stories from the 21st Century' (Iron Press) and 'Science Fiction For Survival: An Archive For Mars' (Valley Press), as well as in magazines ranging from the literary magazine 'Dreamcatcher' to 'Writing Magazine' and 'The People's Friend' (the latter definitely not SF, urban fantasy or horror). I do regular local spoken word events, and needless to say there is a novel on the go. Do come and have a peep at the blogs, stories and audio at https://www.janeayrie.com - you can even go mad and sign up for my newsletter! Plus the usual social media stuff. All details below. Thanks for dropping in! (Oh, the picture is of my highly critical personal editor.)

That last line is so effective, rounding the poem off really well and highlighting the connections you have hinted at before.  I also like the way you portray the chief executive, not as a villain, which it would be easy to do, but as someone...

As you say, sadly this may all come true.  I was watching the first of the new Attenborough series last night, and wondering if, in future, the pictures will be all that's left to show the kids.

Genuinely, not sure if I would trust that snake.  Although it seems a bit churlish not to, as he has been helpful...

Another cracking episode, Penny.

Well done to you, Jean, for standing up to it all.  The whole system is, as Jenny says, a bit of a mystery to anyone growing up in the UK, although many of our Universities and Colleges have their own unofficial hierarchy based on class or looks...

Interesting thoughts.  When I was young I was all long hair and costume jewellery, and enough eye make-up to sink a battleship. Later on, for practical and psychological reasons, I got very practical and quite self-effacing with my style.  Now I'...

Another splendid episode.  I just love the idea of a not too happy to see you squid.  I hope you're thinking of sending this off somewhere at some point?  It deserves a wider audience.  If I ever get any grandchildren, I want to read this to them...
