The picture is stunning, as are the words. I suppose I'm reading this as a companion piece to your 'Folklore', so the beauty seems to have a number of barbs. Particularly liked the verse about history shooting arrows.

Hi! Welcome to ABC Tales.
Very intruiging start to your story and I am looking forward to seeing where it will go next. I like the blending of SF and fantasy and the way you contrast the day to day requirements of the narrator's job and...

Explosive ending - oh no, not

Explosive ending - oh no, not Marc! You capture the grubbiness and seediness of power play, and the sadness of the individual lives destroyed on all sides. This has been a really gripping and enjoyable story.

You tell that Freddy where to go.
I loved the description of your childhood efforts to stay awake, and the skilful way you marry them up with your present situation. I hope you had a great day at the ballpark.

I really enjoyed this. It's a cliche to say 'we've all been there', and maybe not exactly in that way, but the emotions are so recognisable, and the remedies, with personal variations, are pretty universal. The bit about social media made me...
