This was a lovely, comforting read, I really like : "It is beauty; it is alive. It stands tall and proud and timeless…and breathes life for us."

Did you go to the ones they have on nature programmes, so huge it takes a dozen steps to walk...

No one listened anymore" not only a person but an old lady

so "Dowager...becomes one more...

Oh! Am enjoying this :0) All the details about clothes and also the fizzy drinks are great. I would not have thought of them, but they make the reader instantly aware how weird and changed everything is. I do hope this is a long story!
