This was an old piece I've had squirreled away for ages, and when I was looking for something that might come under the IP heading 'Misunderstanding', it jumped right out.
I'm sure we're all putting out signals which don't get picked up,...
I loved this. Really well written, atmospheric and engaging. It's got a cryptic style which reminds me of the male first person noir detective stories of the 50's.
But Calypso did fall in love with Odysseus, so maybe there is hope ......
It's funny how children rationalise everything according to their own, obviously vey limited, experience. I can understand where the goat / vote confusion comes from.

Lovely poem, Jay. I grow Nigella in my garden, white ones. Even before the flowers come out it fills the flower bed with fine ferny foliage. Then after the flowers are over, the goldfinches go mad for the seed.
Opacity is a symptom rather than a cause - it's a result of inflammation, and that can be caused by all sorts of things, in my case it was viral pneumonia.
I absolutely think it's a good idea to go to a medical...
Jenny I am so sorry for your experiences. I spent 7 hours in GWH A&E once. In your previous post you described it as hell, but I think you are doing hell a disservice. Hell is like Butlins compared to Swindon A&E.
Totally agree, Paul, How irresponsible and inconsiderate of that doctor to mention anything at all at this stage. Especially if they're having a meeting because they have no idea what it is.
Debelets is a great word. Sounds to me like it means small Sloane Rangers.
Entertaining and funny as always, although the Ludo Fan Club will be disappointed. We'd hoped he might get have got through a few weeks without physical damage...
