Weightless

In the beginning, the absence of a body bothered me. I‘d look in the mirror and get upset about my weightlessness. Like all bouts of anxiety and melancholy, it passed.

The hotplate was vicious. Pyser had a shift with Phil one night. Phil was doing the usual. Two greasy wooden sticks to flip strips of chicken, pork, beef, fish, whatever the customers had given them in a bowl to cook.

I like how the momentum of this builds in such a controlled, marshalled way, Great imagery. I was there in the park, watching this unfold.
