My stories

Declaring I'm Going to Have an Accident

Go on, tell me, is it me? Am I the one to blame? Is it my fault? All my fault? What am I talking about? I'll tell you what I'm talking about. Well, it's em...when I'm walking along the pavement and someone walking in the other direction doesn't move out the way. I mean, it's always me who has to move out the way apparently. I ask you. Is that fair? Is that why I go out to work every morning? Is that why I pay my council tax?

Life is Almost Real

And that got me thinking. Isn't it the case when we thoroughly enjoy a film or a book or any work of art, that sometimes we carry it around in our minds with us for days, if not years to come? Particularly if we can relate to it. It becomes like a soundtrack to our lives.

My Fellow Conmen...I Salute You!

Anyway, the point is, like most people, I find these phone calls really annoying. But do you know what really bugged me? No, go on, guess...No, what really bugged me was the fact the guy was calling from abroad. Why? It's just that I feel if I'm going to be conned by some guy in a call-centre I would prefer if he...or she...was a fellow Brit. I mean, go on, tell me truthfully is that racist?

Trying to be late for work...

Instead of leaving the house at 7:05, I took the wild decision to leave the house at 7:15. You probably noticed I said I tried to be late for work, because inexplicably I still arrived at 7:50. So it seems I can't be late for work even when I try.

I went to the dentist the other day...

I went to the dentist the other day. What? Isn't that what JOURNALS are for? To tell you I went to the dentist? What did you expect? That I'd tell you I met the Secretary General of the U.N to complain about the price of cigarettes?
