This city forest

Sirens flashing, spinning world
spinning light blue and white
half my body in a doorway
half my body on the street
paralysed by a ragged hole
punctured in my back and
the steady dripping of dropping rain
wets my parched purple lips as
another beer glass shatters, and slams
my head and this city's glories, its
quaint cultural cocktail of football
alcohol, violence, makes
my body shake with fear as I start to leave this life,
as these scenes of life start to fade
as people trip over sprawled legs
and I sense cold on my back, my damp shirt
either blood or rain and still
knives slashing, blades cutting
voices shouting, high pitched scream
but so tired, I only see my
reddened life trickle down
the cracks in this city pavement
as I close my eyes
to try and remember those
beautiful days of you and me
walking amidst those autumn trees
but then my eyes slam open, I see
A knife blade fall
like a large silver raindrop
falling into my already rain soaked chest
and I gaze at crimson paving stones
collect my crimson thoughts,
as I fall towards that darkness
 I smile
as it seems it was worth being born
solely for those few days, that heartbeat,
spent with a beautiful girl
as I lie here, felled like an ailing tree
now in this city forest, this city forest
this city forest
and then that heartbeat stops
