Hello! I am an old crone who very much enjoys reading SF, urban fantasy and horror. I write all sorts, some of it SF, urban fantasy and horror, a lot of it not. Sometimes I can even be funny, so I'm told. My short stories have appeared in the anthologies 'Cold Iron: Ghost Stories from the 21st Century' (Iron Press) and 'Science Fiction For Survival: An Archive For Mars' (Valley Press), as well as in magazines ranging from the literary magazine 'Dreamcatcher' to 'Writing Magazine' and 'The People's Friend' (the latter definitely not SF, urban fantasy or horror). I do regular local spoken word events, and needless to say there is a novel on the go. My new website is currently under construction, and you are cordially invited to come and have a peep at the blogs and free stories there. You can even go mad and sign up for my newsletter! Plus the usual social media stuff. All details below. Thanks for dropping in! (Oh, the picture is of my highly critical personal editor.)

Absolutely splendid, Jenny! I so enjoyed this chapter. I think the words “Try not to singe my rat to the point of no return.” may well become a staple of meal times in my household.

So enjoyed these first two parts, Jenny. Your use of language is really beautiful, and I'm totally caught up in this magical world. Looking forward to the next part!

I'm a great fan of the Broadcasting House programme, Sunday mornings on Radio 4, and have been following Paul's story on there. They played the orchestral version of his four note tune yesterday, I was in absolute floods. Soon to be a single...

I keep trying to pretend that this is all some sort of vast cosmic joke to test the planetary sense of humour. They say the best comedy is based on pain. Someone up there is brilliant. Thanks for reading, Di.

Posted on Tue, 13 Oct 2020
So many people doing such really difficult jobs, especially at this time, and, as you say, often very unappreciated. I do hope that the pandemic will help us to appreciate things differently, and have a greater understanding of who the 'key...

What a brilliant IP response!

What a brilliant IP response! I so identified with this. I always had to have wide fittings as a child (and now, in fact) so my choices were limited, and I longed for the Stellas and Roxannes while having to have Mauds and Beatrices. When I...

Lovely, Rhiannon. I could imagine singing this with my children when they were younger! I miss those days. I can still remember all the words to 'Cauliflowers fluffy and cabbages green...' !
