I write all sorts, some of it SF, urban fantasy and horror, a lot of it not. Sometimes I can even be funny, so I'm told. My short stories have appeared in the anthologies 'Cold Iron: Ghost Stories from the 21st Century' (Iron Press) and 'Science Fiction For Survival: An Archive For Mars' (Valley Press), as well as in magazines ranging from the literary magazine 'Dreamcatcher' to 'Writing Magazine' and 'The People's Friend' (the latter definitely not SF, urban fantasy or horror). I do regular local spoken word events, and needless to say there is a novel on the go. Do come and have a peep at the blogs, stories and audio at https://www.janeayrie.com - you can even go mad and sign up for my newsletter! Plus the usual social media stuff. All details below. Thanks for dropping in! (Oh, the picture is of my highly critical personal editor.)

I really wanted to cheer the courage shown in this. I've never been a fan of 'not speaking ill of the dead'. If it needs to be said, say it. Takes a lot of guts to do it at a family funeral.

Just caught up with this - what a lovely story! Such a shame that, like so many other things, Pride this year again has to be a muted affair. I hope it can be back to its usual rumbustiousness next year!

What a lovely tribute, Rhiannon, and that's a great photograph. Lots of humour, and love, and a real pleasure to read.

One of my favourite SF characters. Amazing that Rutger Hauer came up with that wonderful speech, probably the best moment in the film. I was a Blade Runner superfan back in the day - I haven't seen it for a while, but I can imagine I would find...

Please do keep sharing with us. I'm so glad to know that you're moving forwards. Just to complete a novel is a bloody marvellous achievement. No-one who hasn't tried it knows what it takes. Keep going.

Penny, I shall never look at the Amazon delivery man in the same way again.
I think someone (possibly Jenny?) said in a comment on one of the earlier episodes that they like to save these up to read together, and I'm a bit the same. I...

Great approach to the IP. Sometimes the memories and our imaginations are what get us through.

You've made something very beautiful out of what is obviously a sadness for you, Rachel. The fact that you retain a child-like wonder at the the world around you, which you can put in such wonderful poetry, tells you a great deal about the child...

Lovely, carefree days, Rhiannon. You've brightened my afternoon - it is raining the proverbial cats and dogs here, but no lovely squishy mud to jump in!

Thank you so much for reading, Jean, and for your kind comment. I hope all is well with you. I've now had my second jab, so the world is now my something or other! Variants allowing of course.
