Hello! I am an old crone who very much enjoys reading SF, urban fantasy and horror. I write all sorts, some of it SF, urban fantasy and horror, a lot of it not. Sometimes I can even be funny, so I'm told. My short stories have appeared in the anthologies 'Cold Iron: Ghost Stories from the 21st Century' (Iron Press) and 'Science Fiction For Survival: An Archive For Mars' (Valley Press), as well as in magazines ranging from the literary magazine 'Dreamcatcher' to 'Writing Magazine' and 'The People's Friend' (the latter definitely not SF, urban fantasy or horror). I do regular local spoken word events, and needless to say there is a novel on the go. My new website is currently under construction, and you are cordially invited to come and have a peep at the blogs and free stories there. You can even go mad and sign up for my newsletter! Plus the usual social media stuff. All details below. Thanks for dropping in! (Oh, the picture is of my highly critical personal editor.)

I too like to see where writers do their stuff.  An inspirational kitchen!

And I am so looking forward to getting my copy!

I hope there's going to be more of this!  I want to know what good/bad/disastrous/tremendous things are going to happen.

I was wondering - you say the creature rose up to its full height but there isn't an indication of how high that is...

Your voice is marvellous, Jenny.  I too am a big Keats fan, fell in love with his writing at a young age. This was a joy to read.

Lovely glimpse into a world we often - wilfully - pass by.  I really enjoyed this, Di.

Absolutely gripping.  I love that initial sense of anticlimax that Sophie feels - makes the whole thing seem very real, despite all the strangeness going on.  Very clever.

Libraries are such precious

Posted on Fri, 17 Jul 2020

Libraries are such precious things - I really identified with this.  As you say, it was the very unstructured nature of it that was so magical.  You could wander round, find something that caught your eye, and it might open up a whole new world...
