So Noir, so good

Bits of prose from a new prose thing I'm working on. Harboil is a city where all the noir cliches come true all the time.

Cherry

Harboil: Part IV

The thing is: all villains reiterate.

Harboil: Part I.

The thing is: the sliver of shadow between the drainpipe and the stone cladding always contains a gent with some news. He waits for you to pull the map out. He overhears you repeating the password.
Cherry

Harboil: Part II

The thing is: if you stand here long enough you’ll eventually be cordoned off.
Cherry

Harboil: Part III

Part III. The thing is: every box is worth opening. Also, envelopes and doors.
Cherry

Harboil: Part V

The thing is: plans describe events that will not happen.
Cherry

Harboil: Part VI.

The thing is: the payphones are always ringing. Below ground, the Princess is sat on a gondola, finding romance on the bad canal.

Richard Hanover: Private Dick

This is just the first few parts of something I've been working on. There's no real back story about the main character yet. Mysterious. It's supposed to be a kind of thriller. Any feedback welcome.

Richard Hanover: Private Dick. Part Two

So this is the second bit, of three, from this weird thrillery thing I've been working on.
