Your poem reminded me of the Jenny Wren we had nesting in the beam of our lean to. It's wonderful to behold the parents flying backwards and forwards with tasty morsals, or bits of lining for the nest when we sat very quietly watching.
Your sense of humour and making the best of this situation, I'm sure has helped in your recovery. Long may it continue Jean. Take care and hope everything goes well for your next appointment.
I can identify with this poem, especiially in this heat, lying in a bed of sweat just makes me feel claustrophobic, so I toss and turn till eventually I just have to get up. Though I don't get nightmares, I find it hard to close down and stop...
Your poem really has me longing for cooler Autumn days when I can get out into the countryside for long walks again. I can imagine it was good to get into the woody shade.
I wondered what happened to your poem. I'm glad to see it back. You've inspired me to write about a recollection from my teenage years, so many memories I have from that time.
Some strange behaviour from this mystery man. Reading your story there's a treasure trove of cuious characters being created. And who or what is lurking in the shadows? I ask myself.
I know exactly how you feel. I always bought my bras from Debenhams, because the sales women were so helpful, no matter what size you were. Now Debenhams have closed down where I live, I find it impossible to get a decent bra, they all are either...

The photos set the poem off nicely.

Very astute poem, I like the metaphor of the sea engulfing you in foamy kisses, and then letting you go back on dry land.

Hi Paul,
I wondered what happened to your poem. I'm glad to see it back. You've inspired me to write about a recollection from my teenage years, so many memories I have from that time.
I did like the lines:-

Oh dear, it looks like there's more trouble brewing for Martha and Perfidia.
Glad to see you've started a new series on this story.
Jenny.
