James's Poems

A collection of my poems written between 2005 and 2007.

Silent Sun

I will stare at you forever Vision of the sun, who will blind me. Whose aura is all glazed and silken, that stings like golden rays.

10 Objects….Sink, guitar, apple, head, swing, pot, clock, towerblocks, moon, bicycle.

The sink can be found underneath the garden A guitar can be used to paint pictures An apple is used to throw at soldiers A head is found under a shoe The swing is round and smells of fruit

Cardboard

Cardboard is a board but I find it very boring. All cardboard does is package something up. Something inside which is far more interesting.

Dear Room

Dear Room, Please tell me who else has been within your walls? I'd guess that you are mainly visited by students, maybe less or more creative than us, or maybe not creative at all?

The Bells Of St. Mary Magdalene, Knighton

I heard the sound of church bell's ringing in the distance and was inspired to write this poem.

Things I have not brought with me

I have not brought with me my flashy new ipod. For fear of the hoodies on the bus pinching it. I have not brought with me the wind and the rain, which were beating down on me when I reached the Richard Attenborough Centre.

The Things I Like About You

I like the way you criticise daytime television. The way you say you'd rather leap off of beachy head than spend the day watching it.

Ways To Escape

Find a map of a very remote place to visit and take a trip there. When encountering somebody you don't like, pretend you are deaf and dumb.

Light

Light not heavy. Light not dark. Light. No sorry I don't smoke. Light. Less fat spread than ordinary butter. Light-weight after you've had a few drinks. Light-house a safe haven.
