That does seem fairytale, but thinking about it, he kind of had you at a disadvantage, as you were at such a low point. When I first read all this, I was thinking, oh! A happy ending, but now am wondering, if this was not very unprofessional. He...
I remember I was so happy when I got someone to come look at the damp in our flat, the desolation when he said there was nothing they could do. You have written this brilliantly, the flares of hope, sinking into despair. It is compulsive reading...

I really hope you do not still feel bad about having to lie! You had no choice!!! Even if you were willing to sacrifice the only roof you had, you could not have done that to your baby? Suppose the man had hurt you, what would have happened to...
So much has changed, hasn't it? I am not sure it would be possible now, to find a new GP so quickly. And Ebay has replaced jumblesales, even charity shops are not so good as I remember. I guess not so many people slaughter their supper these days...
