How you have "confine!" in

How you have "confine!" in the middle of the line, breaking the flow, works so well, it really stands out as a warning, and the rest of the poem explaining why. I wonder if first people using fire might have had rhymes like this? Even not so long...
I love these stories :0) That beginning is brilliant :0) Our neighbour (not the one who has just got better from COVID) has a woodburning stove. Whenever I offer him any Buddleia prunings etc he tries not to shudder and says that the wood has...
As a child the only fruit we had (apart from a satsuma in Christmas stocking) was from the garden. Apples would be kept in trays in the garage getting wrinklier and smaller through the winter, and sometimes with maggots growing in their cores. So...
That photo is gorgeous! Maybe the bee had woken up because it was so warm, and had spent the morning trying to wake up everyone else, then they all refused to come out with him, so he'd gone out telling them they were all wrong and he'd show...
So glad you got out into your wild places again! It sounds like it was good excercise, you describe the sound and feel sticky mud really well :0) I liked the snowdrop piece Turlough highlighted, very much. And this is great : "trek down slithery...
Really didn't see that ending coming! I loved the different fares, particularly the board game lady and the wolf. Maybe your story was fermenting, getting richer over time, it's wonderful now. I wonder who the last fare was? what awefulness...
This brought back memories :0) I agree about the boxes! The "puzzle too hard" was useful too as gave another thing to unwrap (the best bit) on Christmas morning, but then could seem new and interesting later in the year. You convey the...
Have never heard of a saying that is about a town and its cats! That's brilliant :0) Not just because showing how careful with money the townpeople are, but also how they get up and down all the time to let their cats out, and evn make up...

What a lovely smiley face he has :0) You told his story really well, the bits from dogs' perspectives particularly strong.
Don't know if you worry about typos might be one here?
She meandered along a corridor and stopped at a glass...

Very sorry you have it, are you feeling really grotty? Hope it goes away quickly, easily!
About the Summer, I felt the same as you about the lockdown. The sky was blue with no aeroplane scars. Could walk in the middle of roads. Dogs got...
