I am a Brummie living in Northampton who loves to write but gets distracted with other things. I enjoy horror/fantasy and anything that provokes original thought.

My literary heroes are Clive Barker, Stephen King, Edgar Allan Poe and HP Lovecraft. Everyone should read George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-four .

I have work published by AlienBuddha Press, Loft Books, BlackBough Poems, DarkWinter Literary Magazine and Paragraph Planet.

Great story, Mark. High octane with political undertones. Congrats on the well deserved accolades [Should that be "emigrating?] Paul

Speculation has it that

Posted on Fri, 30 Sep 2022

Glad you are feeling better now. Being down is just being human and wanting to be with your daughter is OK. Keep smiling as best you can and keep writing. Take care of yourself. Paul x

An ominous, brooding tale ultimately ending with the light of dawn. Another fantastic story in different senses of the word. Paul :)

"Spikey case around soft mattress..." You have captured the life and times of a horse-chestnut with poetic panache. I have seen squirrels disappearing with whole ones in their mouth recently. It's quite a sight! Hoping most end up becoming trees...

I hope Alfred shuns the yoke

I hope Alfred shuns the yoke of employment and continues writing. Just be careful with energy usage and write by candle light if necessary! :)

Nicely done, Rhiannon. Rhythm and rhythm so carefully crafted. Enjoyed, of course. And very seasonal. Paul

"... a song of tales, hoo-hoo through the night.."

"...for some a last waltz, before they fall..." Perfectly timed and beautiful piece. In lucid dreams, for sure. Congrats on the well deserved POTD, Jenny. Paul :)

Queen Elizabeth took her

Posted on Mon, 19 Sep 2022

Queen Elizabeth took her Christian faith seriously. She was devout, by all accounts. Monday was a day of shared mourning. Your poem says so much, so appropriately. Paul
