Conveys life's disappointments and feelings of fragility, without sinking into hopelessness, with a plenty of nuance and a strong sense of the real world. I could identify with elements of this quite strongly.

We saw the exhbition of her work at the National Gallery three years ago, and I've been thinking since then there was a short story somewhere. Finally had the inspiration.

Lots of nice references life in the late sixties, and that would be a good subject for a novel. I remember how Simon Dee was a mega name on TV for about two years then his career just fell apart.
