...about this. There's some interesting history, but it seems to be a conversation from another story and goes on for a very long time without moving that story on. Needs some reminder of the underlying narrative.

... the way you pack a lot of detail of the men's history together into a very succinct piece, and convey the experience of people from a shared background having very different experiences of life. Good piece Kilb.

A nice piece of childhood nostalgia free of any tweeness. I like the references to the inside of the bus; the type of thing that strikes the senses of a young child.

Very engaging ... in a quite disturbing way. I like the way you concentrate all the tensions in a disintegrating marriage into some of the mundane details, like the quick exit from the shop and the consumption of coffee and snacks. I think a lot...

I like the fact that you left this with only a partial discovery, where Eve doesn't learn all the details about her mother's affair. I'd guess it's quite true to life.
