It's always a great surprise when a piece of writing comes together and gives pleasure. How I feel when I've spent time working on a poem is very fulfiling and cheers me up.
You explain well the hidden trials of these fish and the dangers they face. I also like the idea of the runic shapes etched upon their sides. A clever poem indeed.
Memories captured in Christmas decorations are some of the best. I do hope the spirit of the season is with you and your family Penny. I wish you much health and happiness for the New Year too.
Everything about this poem speaks to me, especially in that third stanza;- feeling like a visitor in the lives of others rings so true. You really hit the nail on the head when you wrote this poem, especially as I could relate to it.
I'm sure there are many people who understand the sentiments in your poem. It can be a time of expectations but also disappointments and discord. But the one thing we can rely on, is that we're not alone.
Thanks Luigi,

An intimate look at nature with all its ups and downs.
Just love the Willow tree and the way you describe its leaves as they droop, and how it talks to the moon in midnight mumurs of watery dreams.
Enjoyable read.
Jenny.

Your poem expresses so much of the beauty of this place in so few words Rhiannon.
Capturing a pleasant scenic walk as you always do.

There's a kind of magic about your second version of this poem Di, especially in those lines:-
fragrant flames in Spring, then leaves unfurl, spell
air for all near, unaware,
The buds actually remind me of wands. You express...
