Dirt: A Noir Story

(edited) Ch 1 Taylor “Have you ever tasted dirt? Have you ever felt your heart stop, if only for a minute? Have you ever smelled the sweet odor of wet earth, and swallowed it?"

A World without Airships

200 words.

Ticking Watch

I looked out on the town. A large distortion of gray, that’s all it ever was and that’s all it’ll ever be.

How Bizarre

I was bullied at school and was unemployed for many years. Having listened to a record on a budget CD entitled, 'How Bizarre,' I wrote this poem about some of the things that are bizarre in my life.

Darkness

I wrote a poem about an alcoholic. It was intended as a joke. My friend said, 'I was an alcoholic. That's exactly what it was like.' He asked someone to read it out in church.

It's Not Fair God

Many things in this world are unfair. This poem examines how people blame God for them and refuse to do anything about it themselves.

St. Nicholas Cathedral

I have always liked old churches, places where people have worshipped God for hundreds of years. This poem was written after a visit to St. Nicholas' Cathedral in Newcastle.

He Saves Souls

This poem describes Jesus dying a criminal's death on the cross so that we could be saved.
