My Dad was thrifty, I think

Posted on Mon, 06 Mar 2023

My Dad was thrifty, I think his family were Methodist or something like that. He was always trying not to spend unless he had to. It used to irritate my Mum a lot. One of the moneysaving things was holidays. We used to tumble out of the back of...

I know it has lots of vitamin

Posted on Sat, 04 Mar 2023

I know it has lots of vitamin C and potassium, which is what bananas have, isn't it? And I think there is a type of protein in the skin, along with B vitamins. I guess the problem is about them being solid carbohydrate, and also how they are...

I love "softly thinking..../remaining in hush"

agree with Jenny about the bugs. Am a bit ambivalent about Brent, first putting her in danger then having to bug her house! But still very much enjoying the story :0)

I will need to read this

Posted on Mon, 27 Feb 2023

I will need to read this again. But it struck lots of chords with me. As a child, remember my Dad inheriting a HUGE sideboard from his Aunt. It needed six strong people to bring into the house and was such dark oak. I felt it didn't want to be...

I don't really understand why

Posted on Tue, 21 Feb 2023

I don't really understand why the West has not/is not sending what Ukraine needs to stop the war. Surely keeping it going so long is costing more, in money, and thousands of lives. If China balances this by equipping Russia, more resources...
