"We're On the Road to HUMATERNITY" (book review)

"We're on the Road to HUMATERNITY" is a fusion of story-telling, philosophical mini-essays, and poetry.

an Ode to a Morning Lark

dedicated to my longtime, elder comrade Aaron Ashurst Seated here at this coffee-house booth. healthy confident couple next one over. a tiny girl with shiny strawberry hair. Such a wondrous manifestation of Gaiia's patient, vital forces of revival!!

Klamath Union High School

a classic, civic red brick building in a bullish old ranching, logging town in parched Oregon, it's "progressing" in industry (see the robotics factory) but Changing quite slowly: (the latest VH1 fashions mean less than little enough)

Here's To Death

Here's to death, who makes the deer nimbler, the fox fiercer, and the desert pines so resourceful; who lends greatness to old, gnarled fingers, wanton sugar to maidens' smiles, and bearish strength to the babe's suckling mouth; who brings tranquillity to the wounded hare, fiery cool to the hospital bed, and sweetly feeds the lime-green woodland ferns. Here's to death: silencer of foolish, braggart voices, wind of the brave warrior's cry, the other side of sublime ambition's die. Here's to death, though I would evade him a good while longer.
