Found the site in November 2011. Love the friendly and easy format. Write stories and the occasional poem. Have published four books, all available from Amazon. The East End Butcher Boy, Eastendbutchers Short Story Collection, The Men In The Shadows and Who Is Jack Winter.  Always amazed at the diversity of the site and the quality of the writing. Try to write as much as I can and like to try different styles. Hope you like my stories.

Mate, can't wait for the next bit. You've created a character right there in just a few hundred words. I feel I know him, this could be a novel. Keep going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brought a smile to my face

Brought a smile to my face for many reasons. Firstly because it's obvious that you loved where you worked and not many people can say that anymore. Secondly, because you're about to start a new phase of your life and that's a good thing. I've...

Hi Mate, loved this. Brought back memories. Mr Whittle with his oversized slipper, Mrs Harvey with the palm of her hand, Mr Bush with his cane, Mr Charman with the board rubber. I was hit with all of these. I can smile and laugh about it, but...

Made me smile. A good day, I think we all had those, when we suddenly felt part of "The Gang", even if it didn't last for long! Nice read Caldwell.

Great story Itane Vero, I was routing for him right from the start. You created a character that the reader can relate to and sympathise with very quickly. Maybe a part 2?

Liked this Ed. You open with drifting icy kapok. Great imagery that sets the scene for the rest of the poem. Trees looking like fairy cakes, weeping cars... whats not to like? Great poem mate.

Hi Di, I just had this idea that maybe this long last watch was just hanging about somewhere with everyone thinking it was a fake. Its a true story about the watch. It was Buzz Aldrins and it has been missing since 1970!
