Nightmare on Sesame Street

Having left critical comments on another poem I thought it only fair to have a go and post one. Hope you like, all feedback gratefully received. NW

A breach of the peace

"Come on now, you can do it. Keep going¦. ¦Christ I hated those words; so easily uttered by the gifted and the good. Never spoken without a spoonful of smugness, whether intentional or not, and always said just at the point when you actually can't do it. When you've tried as hard as you can and it's all proved just too much. I'd vowed many times never to say those words to anybody no matter what.

Don't do it!

DON'T DO IT! Go on do it You said It's not that dangerous You said I'd do it if I were you You said Imagine how impressed they'll be You said You'd be the talk of everyone in the pub

Stambie Run

I saw two women sobbing yesterday. I was with my mates Paul and Jimmy; we'd gone to Stambie's, Saint Ambrose school yard, so we could do the 'Stambie run'.
