I liked the shape too. It's almost symmetrical but the slightly thicker end reflects the build up. And the thinest bit, the middle, hinges on the but! It's great when you don't plan a shape but it has a life of its own. It makes me think of my...
Real nightmare words, well written. I didn't guess the end and then of course had to go back and reread. I felt the thing about keep talking was very strong, that thing that keeps your mind above the water, to use words, communicate, reason with...
Brilliant. It starts in one place and then goes somewhere I didn't expect and ends up with this terrible loneliness of the wild geese flying, but in that those last few words there's some feeling of stillness.
I'm definitely with the last stanza too. Some beautiful sense of continuity in those lines. Maybe what makes them so effective is the almost matter of fact opening? A bit like keeping a log. It's obviously struck a chored, must be one of those...
